US PCC from India

i read recently in one of the threads that one of the common reason for rejection is invalid PCC. My spouse and I are from India, lived in the US for a few years and returned back to India last year.

For both of us, we got India PCC from PSK last month. We are hopeful to get invited in a draw this month or next one, and I believe PCC is valid for six months.

I visited US for a week last month and applied for PCC in person. When applying, I gave a friends address in the US for the FBI to mail the results, and the friend mailed it to me in India. My wife applied from India, but she gave the same friends address.

1. Can I get India PCC from PSK? How long is it valid?
2. Can I apply for US PSK while I am there for a short visit? The date on report is the day after I left the US.
3. Can the address on the US PCC be my friend’s address in the USA?
4. What are other common reasons for rejection? Should I just hire a consultant?

My IELTS expires in August. If my application gets rejected, I may have to take the test again. Since our score is 454, we (if? based on last draw) may get the ITA only in August and end up in a scenario where I have only a few days to submit the documents and the application before the IELTS score expires. So, I am trying to have all the documents before the ITA. Apart from WES, I don’t think it should take more than a couple of weeks to get any other documents. For both countries’ PCC, it took max 3 weeks for us.

1. For 6 months (since this is your current country of residence)
2. The date is actually good. It must be issued after you were last present in that country.
3. No problem
4. No need. You are fine.
