Hi,

Is it okay to give CIC a copy of the electronic Identity History Summary the FBI sends or should we wait for the hard copy in the mail? The page on US checks says that we can get an electronic copy by email, but at the same time at the bottom of the page it says all PCCs must be originals.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/united-states.html

This is a bit confusing. Does this mean electronic documents can be "originals" too so long as they're not photocopies of existing hard copies?

Thanks

Original = hard copy, as supplied, with the security features (if any) intact. However, it looks as if the USA can also provide a non-paper response, presumably with unique identification information in it that IRCC can look up.
