Okay thank you. I ask because a few pages back someone was asking when their copr expires and someone said when their fbi check expires?.. Or actually I believe they said when their medical results expire? What does this mean?

Exactly that, the COPR validity is usually the duration of your medical (1 year from the date you took the medical). So if you had your medical in Sept 20 2015, and got your COPR in April, it would be valid until Sept 20 2016. That means you have to land before that date.

Can someone point me in the direction of the best resources on landing information?

I think they send you a pamphlet with your COPR. But, there's nothing to it. They ask you 3 questions, staple your COPR to your passport and that's it.

I've not heard of anyone having to show proof of legal status despite what it says there, however.

After you land, head to your nearest Service Canada office and get your SIN number. As for medical and driver's license, that depends on the province you are immigrating to.

We will be moving to what they've dubbed "the most beautiful place on earth" :P ;D ;)

My COPR has the expiration of Sept 19, 2016. I did my medical on Sept 9, 2015. I wonder if the difference in the dates means that CIC rec'd the results on Sept 19, 2015. I thought that was strange. Who knows, right? LOL

what's the expiration date on your passport? sometimes they base the expiration date off of that.

more than likely, they just extended it a couple of weeks. it's not a big deal. as long as your information is correct on the COPR you're fine.

.

and the questions they ask are the questions printed on the COPR, so there shouldn't be any surprises.

My passport expires in April 2020.
Yeah, nothing is missing, it's a beautiful piece of paper. Hehee

Got an email today requesting me to pay Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) which I had already paid upfront. Then I got an email saying it was an error and that I should ignore it as they've determined that the fee has been paid already.

Are these the signs of my application being at the last stages? Any senior member who can let me know approximately how much time would it take now to get the DM?

Thanks!

I'm a nervous wreck right now. Just left the post office after mailing our applications out. We checked, double checked, triple checked and I'm still nervous! Also, I mailed it out and got a tracking number via my customs form. But after it was said and done and I clarified, he said it only tracks for customs, not all the way to the destination. Does this seem right? I made it clear from the beginning that I needed the tracking number.

Assuming it gets there, the first thing we will hopefully receive is AOR, right? Does this come
By way of email or snail mail?

Questions for others....at what point if any did you involve your MP? I'm frustrated (as I know others are too) with the process. I know the times can be up to 17 months but watching other US applicants be approved in 4 months or less and I'm moving into month 8 is frustrating. I'm so happy for all approved but the fact that CIC doesn't process apps in order, and leave some of us hanging for months is crazy. Even applying for notes takes 30 days?
The whole fact that you are so out of the loop through the whole process is maddening.

Sorry, I'm just venting and unsure if we should involve the MP or not. I'm just ready to be working here and be part of society paying taxes.

What service did you use? If USPS, you can track it through Canada Post once it crosses the border. Any of the major couriers should be trackable anywhere in the world.

Reading some of your posts it seems there were a few screwups on CIC's side with your docs, so that probably caused the delay. I'm betting you will hear something in the next month. You haven't had any real doc requests or anything, correct?

That's what I thought would be the case. It was usps...the man didn't seem especially kind or willing to help. Maybe he wasn't aware. Hope that's the case!
