Congrats ladyex13. My application is very similar to yours in timeline, so thanks for posting something I could compare with. My timeline so far is below:

App Sub Sep 22
App Rec'd Sep 28
Aor Nov 18
SA Dec 7
File Tran Dec 14
Started Processing Dec 14
DM Feb 17
COPR Waiting

Meds upfront
Fingerprints upfront
Fees/Pics and so on Upfront
VO is Ottawa

So now we are waiting on the COPR. I think they may have sent it to her address in Atlanta. I should have changed it to my address in Calgary since she is living here (visiting). We are now trying to contact the call center to see if anything was sent to Atlanta. hah.
My timeline is about a month behind yours, so hopefully that means DM for me next month! My SO is in Calgary too, I can't wait to be back!

From comparing timelines of other posters, it seems there was a speed up in processing and there were a bunch of DMs this year. I was initially concerned that my DM was too quick, but I'm not the only one with this timeline. It seems everything could be done in just over 5 months and not the 17 months the website states for routine applications!!!

kdubbs, hopefully your DM comes soon.

Just want to add one more thing. When we applied we did not yet have the police certificate, because the FBI usually takes 3 months to provide one. So we sent in the application without it and included a note that it was on its way. The police certificate (and medical) are not needed for SA. Thankfully the police certificate arrived before we got the SA, and as soon as the PR application was transferred to Ottawa, we sent the only original copy of the police certificate to Ottawa. We saved almost 2 months by doing that, but it was a gamble, as they could've returned my application as well and wasted more time.

similar time line here as well...looks like we all should be getting our copr around the same time. I am hoping next week so we can start planning and finalizing things.
4Canucks please let me know when yours shows up. I didn't check until yesterday so I don't know the exact DM date. My wife is calling her family in Atlanta asking them daily for mail. Once they get it they will then have to mail it to us in Calgary, as fast as possible, with tracking.

On the day it arrives I will leave work early, we will take the 3 hr drive from Calgary to the Coutts border and make a u-turn back into the country. Ah memories. I did the exact same thing in 2008 to get my PR (through provincial nominee program). Just like then, I wish they would let us just take the 20 min drive to the Calgary airport instead, but we must physically leave the country.

For those that have landed recently, has anyone received their actual PR Card in the mail? How long did it take from landing? It gets sent automatically right?

Wishing everyone a speedy DM!!!

I hope my dm will be soon, maybe mid March, if I compare to others here.

I am in Canada with my husband until mid May and have two cats in Texas to bring here and a house in Texas to sell.

I apologize if this has been asked already, but I've been researching about landing and getting SIN number. I've read that sometimes they don't issue them using a COPR? My husband is looking to transfer in his job but he needs his SIN number right away, we can't wait 2-3 months for a PR card. Has anyone been denied a SIN number with only using COPR? It says on the government site that they can use it if it's within 1 year.. I'm confused

You don’t have to wait for 2-3 months for a sin. you just need an id (your passport or DL) in on of the service canada locations near you and you’ll be able to get it right away.

COPR 19-02-2016!!!
My husband received his COPR in the mail today. I am so excited!!!! He has until Aug. 18, 2016 to land in Canada. His original medical was done on Oct. 1, 2014 so they extended it for us. My advice to others is if they receive an email stating they need updated photos, it is best to also send a prepaid, self-addressed courier envelope with it. We sent his photos via courier on Monday, the LA Consulate received it Tuesday and he received his COPR by Friday. We also wrote his name and application number on the front of the envelope. I just want to thank everyone on this forum who helped us through this stressful process!!! I know it is a very difficult process and wish everyone the best of luck. When you least expect it, your COPR will arrive too:)

Thank you. I also have one more question. Can he get car insurance right away? This might be a stupid question but I dont drive, never have and I don't really know much about it. What will they need? He has a valid US drivers liscence.

Did you send in your FBI clearance with your application or did you wait for them to ask for it since its about 16 weeks before you get the clearance.

In PEI you need a license from here to register a car. You can be insured with a US license. If you have your driving abstract and letter from your insurance company it is cheaper, and most places require it for out of province drivers. Easier to just get his US license swapped to your provincial one.

I am not sure what the processing times for the FBI clearance is currently but when i submitted the app early last year the processing time was 12 weeks but i submitted the fbi clearance along with the PR app however after I got SA i had to apply for another one as I was not sure if it would be valid by the time CPC-ottawa touched the file. In my opinion I would submit the PR application and then apply for the FBI clearance, that way as soon as the file is transferred to Ottawa you can send it to the visa office rather than wait 3 months for the FBI clearance before submitting the application.

USA applications have been processed in around 8-10 months, so you'll likely receive DM soon. However, the max time is 17 months, so you can't contact CIC about it until after that time, because it technically could take up to 17 months (but it's unlikely).
