If all goes well about 6-10 months, on average. I have been waiting since early June, and should be getting A Decision made for my permanent residence. I am US citizen married to a Canadian bride, who is waiting for me in Nova Scotia. Been a long 15 months to be apart, soon though, I retire in February,and and moving to Nova Scotia. Be patient, sometimes its hard, but this takes time.

Thanks for the reply. Is this based on something specific or just sifting through the 300+ pages of this thread?

Received my CoPR in the mail in Calgary today. My application was updated to DM on eCAS December 6th and the letter is dated December 7th so they got it in the mail pretty darn quick! Only 5 days. The paperwork shows Condition 51 and it's valid until August 3, 2016.

I'll be taking a trip back to see family in Washington and landing at the Peace Arch border in the first week of January. I've been reading up, but any advice on the landing process? I already have all my stuff in Canada from when I was on my student/work permit so I'm not sure if I have show anything for import.

Likely Ottawa, most Americans are processed there, and since you live in the US it's pretty much guaranteed. Mississauga is only for the sponsor. You will see on your SA email what VO they send it to, and possibly in your ECAS.

If anyone asks about the prcess and what the best thing to do is. I will tell them to start early, take your time, double and triple check everything. Make sure to get the FBI clearance done so you receive it not too long before you send in your application. Take care of the medical and pay all the fees before hand, I persoally believe it helps your cause, any delalys are magnified. If there is a problem fix it ASAP. Most importantly Pray. and Pray some more.
I will also tell them to use this forum, invaluable information and people who are goiing or have gone through the process. They care. and it is obvious.

I sort of had and advantage upfront, I helped my Canadian wife immigrate to the US over six years ago. So the process in both countries is very similar. I learned from my mistekes. I hope and pray everyone waiting gets there DM soon.

Quick question about importing cars from the US to Canada. I know its been discussed here alot, & I think I understand the process. However, the car is title in both my name(us citizen) and my wife name(PR of US and Canadian Citizen). Will we have to pay taxes on the car when we import because her name is on the car too? The car is a prius with almost 270,000 miles, so not sure it is worth the hassle to import. I am on a work permit so I can continue to drive it for a while on US plates in Canada. I just recently received my COPR
