Wow! My jealously levels are increasing. I wonder how they determine who to fast track? I thought the application we put together was in great order and complete, and it was submit at the beginning of May, and it's just sitting in Ottawa right now in the void.
I know the feeling. Sometimes I think following this thread isn't a great idea because rather than just sitting patiently resigned to 10 months or so of being apart, you see some applications approved in what seems no time at all and it gives you a faint glimmer of hope. We'd love to get a DM at some point in September since my wife's lease expires at the end of October and it would be great to just pack her up and move at that point. Based on some timelines that is a possibility (mid-April applicant here) but other timelines make us think we might not see DM until 2016.

So discouraging, especially since we think we should be a pretty straightforward case -- if someone picks up the file they should be able to make a decision in about 15 minutes.

I agree DanOCan. There are applications where the couple has been married for over 5 years with kids, these types should be open and shut cases after they review the medical and FBI reports. There is no method to their madness.

CIC can be a mystery with their inconsistencies. But remember that it is not the same case officer looking at every application. There are several of them. Part of being "lucky" is simply getting an easy-going case officer vs someone who is strict. Some reply to e-mails right away (like my wife's case officer did) while others don't reply at all. Some update eCAS diligently, others don't even update it at all (people have seen eCAS status stuck on "In Process" even after they landed and became a PR). When you introduce the human element and many cases require a judgement call, you can understand why there is some variance.

I received my COPR in the mail today!!! :D

And just to give a little input, I never went "in process" on e-cas, just went from application received to DM.

Hi all,

I'm getting jealous reading this thread. All these people getting movement on their applications so quickly. Anyway, we applied in October with SA in early January. Today, our status finally went to "in process". Anyone have an idea on timeline from there? Like how long it'll take to get a COPR? We're really hoping to have it before September 8th, when my wife is planning on starting school.

Congrats on the "IP" status. It won't be much longer now!

The only reason why these quick applications are getting talked about is because they are not normal, and happen to catch our eye. I'm personally using the October applicants as a marker and starting to accept that my application may take 12 months rather than 4-8 months.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

All the best shm17! You're almost there!

I don't know if this is the norm but after processing we got DM 7 days later.

My In Process to DM was 11 days and then 6 days later I got my CoPR.

Hopefully your timeline is similar, shm17!

Hi Guys,

I'm a June 1st 2015 applicant and I got approved for SA on July 28th 2015. I got the news through the call centre since I'm still waiting for my letter of approval. Anyways...today I checked my ECas and it says Permanent Residence Status is In Process...Is that even possible? I don't even know at what VO the application is. Could it have just been kept in Missisauga? I'm so confused!

Hey, I'm a May 28, 2015 applicant and I got SA on the 28 of July as well. I had to call to find out my decision as no email had arrived up until today. Yesterday when I checked several times (yes, I'm obsessive), it said Application Recieved for my husbands PR application, and this morning I checked again and it now says In Process! I sure hope we are lucky and get quick DM, although I feel for those who have been waiting for so long...

I am sure that many of you have felt this way but today all I want is some kind of answer...an update something anything...We have not heard from the CIC Drs office nor have we heard from CIC so I am assuming they have not contacted the Dr...My stress level right now is beyond...I really am jealous of you guys that know your fate...We on the other hand continue to be on hold...We are doing everything we can to continue to live life but my goodness this is crazy...The only thing that we have is that we are together but I tell you the pressure is on...there we ya go..thank you for letting me share!

Wow a may and June applicant have in progress status already. Here I am stuck on application received for over four months. I am jealous and debating if I should have done inland instead of Outland. Currently living with in laws, wife is back in school. I hate taking money out of our savings. I want you work and get our own place. This process is delaying our future and starting to get unbearable.

Inland would almost definitely be a longer wait. If you stayed within Canada the whole time you could get a work permit though... Your time will come. It really is a crazy drain on your own resources and ability to live life.

and the story continues....Doctors office has not heard a single word from CIC...they have sent another email....

And....COPR!!

Applied Oct 27/2014
SA Feb 17/15
Additional documents request - July 28/15
In process - July 30, 2015
DM - Aug 4, 2015
COPR rec'd - Aug 7, 2015

Now to plan a trip to the Falls!!!

Right there with you. I haven't been waiting as long as you, but I'm so tired of waiting to start my life that I'm experiencing major depression. Everything is hinging on them approving my PR. It's a bit of a slap in the face when other VO offices do everything in 1/3 the time. Feigning happiness for those who are blazing through is becoming increasingly difficult when I know how much longer I have to wait.

Hang in there! You're not alone!
