Hi all,
I have US drivers license. But I lost my latest (California) original license while moving back to India. I have a soft copy in my mail. I have previous (Texas) original license.
My California license will be expiring in August 17 and I will be arriving Canada on Aug 18. Can I get Canada (British Columbia) license in this situation?

No, expired licenses will not work irrespective of extract. Is your Texas license valid?
You would need to either renew your license or try as if no license exists

I contacted icbc regarding this and I got reply from them.

We can accept your licences up to three years past their expiry for experience. We require you to prove at least 24 months of non-learner driving experience in order to be exempt from our Graduated Licensing Program. If you cannot provide your California licence in addition to your Texas licence, you will be required to provide a California driver’s abstract and surrender your Texas licence to be issued a BC licence.

Hope this helps for someone like me.
