US Citizen - Will I still need Proof of Funds if I am keeping my developer job in NYC?

To expand on that:

I know I can qualify for express entry due to my skills and experience. However, the Proof of Funds is a rather large hurdle to overcome. I currently work for CapitalOne which has offices in Canada, tho they are not in Halifax which is the area I'd like to move to.

If I were to apply and state that I will be keeping my job in NYC and working remote, will this aid me in the application process since I will be able to support myself without issue? Thus, proof of funds may not be necessary?

This will not help or make a difference. Proof of funds will still be mandatory for you to meet the minimum requirements of the program.

if you have them in 401k/ ira or roth ira would also be able to "show" them, just a statement from the 401K provider would be sufficient

same goes if you have 403b, 457b or other IRS recognized Retirement plans.

Yes - this can be done. You just have to make sure you have 20%-30% above the amount required for POF to cover the penalty should the funds be withdrawn from the registered account.
