US Citizen immigrating to Canada

Hey y'all! Like the title said, I'm a US citizen, and my soon-to-be spouse is a Canadian citizen. We're planning on getting married in early November.
We plan to fly back together after the ceremony, and visit his parents (I have a return ticket). From there, we'd like to apply inland, but we're unsure of how to proceed?
When going through the checkpoints, what should we be disclosing to the officers, and should we have already started the application and have it with us?
Just trying to be prepared and avoid any worst-case scenarios.
Thank you so much in advance! :D

You would enter as a visitor and must show ties to the US (home, family, business, etc.) Bring your marriage certificate so you can be exempted from the travel restrictions, and of course your 14 day quarantine plan. Inland processing takes about a year and you can't leave for more than a couple of weeks. You can start working (and depending on the province, get health coverage) once you get your work permit.

You'll need to go and do a court marriage in the US to be able to get into Canada or try to show that you are common law if you are common law.

Their plan is to get married in the USA, and then return to Canada where sponsor's parents live. To visit etc... but also, apply Inland. I've been guiding them IRL but encouraged them to post here! Thank you for all the help.
