I'm a Canadian Citizen (born Cda) and my husband American, born US, and our son who's 2 years old was also born in the US.
We live in the US and want to apply for our son's Canadian citizenship but does my son need to be a resident of Canada? I read this requirement somewhere but maybe that is wrong application. Is applying for 'canadian citizenship' different from 'canadian citizenship certificate'? Thank you for your help!

1. No, he doesn't have to reside in Canada, you apply for proof of citizenship. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp
