NEED HELP URGENTLY
I have been following these forums but this is my first post.
Under a post graduate work permit, I applied for an LMO back in October in Ontario to extend employment with the same employer which was denied. Then I found an employer in Alberta who filed an LMO which was approved in December and I applied for my work permit right away (ONLINE) on the 88th day of my restoration period and got confirmation.
Today I received a letter that my work permit has been refused because the application was submitted after 90 day restoration period. I called CIC and explained them that my application was submitted on the 88th day. After looking at my details, the rep agreed that I applied within my restoration period and forwarded an email to CIC- Vegreville for reconsideration of the application. The rep asked me to wait for a week to two weeks and call back again to check the status. I asked her to send this in writing that but she said she cant do it but assures me that all calls are recorded and you can note down the time and date of the call for future reference.
My concern is that the letter also says i don't have legal status in Canada and should leave as soon as I can. Since I don't have anything in writing from CIC that I can stay until Vegreville reconsiders my case, I am doubtful as to what to do next? Anyone has any information or any similar experience to share?
