[Urgent] Visitor Record approved - what to do next?

Hi everyone,

I have a (possibly) urgent query and wanted to try and figure out what I should do.

Basically, I had a work permit which expired a few months back, but applied for visitor status before it did, so that I wouldn't be in Canada at any point without a valid status (as I wasn't quite ready to leave Canada yet, at the time).

So I eventually returned to my country of origin shortly after receiving an ITA, and began the PR application process, completely forgetting about the application for visitor status after leaving Canada.

After logging into my CIC account to see if there had been any change on my PR application I noticed that there had been an update to the visitor status application and after clicking on it, noticed that it had been approved and that there was a document number.

I assume they will have sent this document to my Canadian address, as I was living in Canada at the time?

Until a few minutes ago, I had no idea that an actual physical document would even be involved, and only found out after I Googled.

The expiry date of the document is still good for a little while, so if I can use it to re-enter Canada as just a visitor, will I have to perhaps hope that I can have it mailed to me in my country of origin so that I physically have it if/when I try to re-enter Canada, or would it be better to try and raise an Enquiry with CIC letting them know that I left Canada and ask if they can mail a copy to me here instead?

If they already mailed it to my Canadian address, I'm not sure if they would have an issue with mailing another visitor record with a copy already out there somewhere in the postal system?

Wierdly, there was no notification to my inbox, and apart from saying that it was approved, nothing was uploaded/messaged to my CIC account either.

Any help/guidance much appreciated.

Cheers!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
The visitor record will be sent to the address you provided in your application. I don't think that you can use a visitor record to travel to Canada since it is not a travel document.
