Urgent! TRV

Hello,
My study permit extension application was approved but I will get my updated study permit in paper within 6 weeks. Meanwhile my TRV is expiring on July 31. So, Do I really need a TRV if I'm not planning to travel outside the country. Is it illegal if I stay here with an expired visa but I have my study permit. And Is it okay if I apply for my TRV after 31 July. In that Case, should I apply for visa restoration or visa extension?

Please help.

You only need the TRV to re-enter Canada so apply for new one once you get the study permit. See https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/studentlife/temporary-resident-visa-trv
