Urgent | Student Visa Counterfoil Electronically Cancelled | First time travel

Hi guys,

I was travelling in January 2023 from India to Canada via Doha. I had the boarding passes for both flights but at the Doha airport I was informed that my passport could not be scanned and something along the lines of - 'your visa does not exist/sequence number does not exist in the system'.

My Gckey showed that my counterfoil was valid but I did not receive any other information and had to travel back to India. I raised a few web forms but nothing changed and my counterfoil kept showing valid. Thinking this is an airline issue I tried to travel again a week later from India by Air Canada and they did not give me the boarding pass with the information - 'visa is revoked/inactive and cannot be scanned. Some popup error message shows it's revoked' but my Gckey still kept showing the counterfoil as valid! I raised webforms and by the 10th I got a message in my Gckey stating that my counterfoil has been cancelled electronically and they advise me to not travel to Canada with that counterfoil on my passport. In the next line there is an Authorization to Return to Canada(ARC) request but I have NEVER been to Canada before, never been in North America. Please see below for the updates.

• I made travel plans twice, even within those days nothing changed on my Gckey even though I raised webforms after the first time
• After the second time I raised a few webforms , next day got the message spoken about above. Gckey went from Approved to Submitted, and eligibility went to application is in progress, we will let you know when we start reviewing, same with background check and Final decision (we will let you know when we reach one from Approved) The entire Document Status panel disappeared, no invalid or anything. Just disappeared.
• 2 days later, the eligibility status changed to we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility from application is in progress, we will let you know when we start reviewing
• Meanwhile I raised webforms asking about how ARC is applicable to me as I am travelling first time / never been there, I got an email stating they have noted and forwarded my query to the office and will tell me next steps.

It's been 2 weeks since all this and the above are the updates I have. I had to defer, I am really tense as everything was perfectly fine and I received no communication about any of this since I got my stamped visa and port of entry letter (2 months back), my medicals are not expired and my passport is not expired either. I am enrolled in a DLI. Does anyone have any idea what happened?

Hello, yes my visa was reissued. There had been some mix-up. If you're facing anything like this please contact IRCC through a web form explaining everything clearly and in detail. If the webform doesn't allow the length of your message maybe write your issue in a document and attach it with it. It took around 10 days or so from the time I raised a web form to start the processes. The entire thing was solved in 1 month or so. I will travel soon.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and you had to delay your trip. I’m glad it works out and wasn’t anything serious.

Hi dear, actually same thing happened with my brother recently. can you please tell me did you have to submit the file again or you submit that same file? How long does they take to reissue the visa ? and does your visa was for the same intake or next intake? It will be really helpful if you can tell me the reason for cancellation of the visa. Waiting for your response. Situation is really stressful
