Hi All,

I'm CEC inland and I received the PPR yesterday but my spouse travelled to India last week due to some medical emergency.

So please advise what should be my next steps in this case as she can't come back to Canada without the stamping.

Thanks,
Sonu

First thing first, is she accompanying you in your application? If so, does she not have a valid status in Canada? If she does, you can ask for an extension explaining that your spouse had a medical emergency, you can attach the airplane ticket along with your explanation(I did this and I got a month extension). If she does not have a valid status (If this is the case then i'm assuming she was on implied status), then you can request that she submits her passport to Canadian embassy in India.

Although this forum is very helpful, in the end of the day for these kind of cases the best thing to do is to inquire directly to CIC, there should be an email in the ppr if you can't submit your passport in 30 days. Best of luck.

Thanks for your prompt response.

She is accompanying me in the application but our TRV expired in March end and yet to receive the WP / VR extension.

I'm planning to send an email to CIC and attach a LOE with my passport. Hopefully, I'll get the response soon.

I called up CIC anticipating a similar situation. If the PPR is approved, you could ask for a change of visa office. Your wife can get her passport stamped here in India.

Please confirm the same with CIC.
