Urgent: Secondary review - children got PR, but not parents

Hi there,

I was requested to provide additional docs (all pages of passports ad etc.) for secondary review of PR cards extension. The whole family was outside of Canada for more than 3 years. For some reason they sent new PR cards for kids, but not for me and wife. I called CIC call center and did not get any good answer. I told that kids were also outside of Canada, but still got new PR cards. There is no answer.

To be honest, I have sent all the documents as requested, but still concerned about my PR status. Can you please share your thoughts and experiences.

I think it's difficult for any of us to guess what is happening with your application.

Your situation is unusual because you applied to sponsor your non-PR child when you did not meet the residency requirement and did not meet the requirements to sponsor your child. Your child's PR application was incorrectly approved - when it should have in fact been refused and have triggered an investigation (and likely revocation) of your own PR status. I'm wondering if this history is what's causing CIC to take more time processing your PR card renewal. Ultimately difficult for any of us to say.

Let me correct one point - CIC approved my child's spondorship.

Can anybody else please give with some thoughts

Nothing to correct. My post stated that your child's sponsorship had been approved.

What I was pointing out is that it should not have been approved (if CIC was following their own rules). You got extremely lucky.

I know Secondary Review takes long time, but I worry about uncertainty. All the family members were outside of Canada, but they gave new PR cards to kids, no information for parents. I really want to know whether the fact that they approved sponsorship of my non-PR child and issued new PR cards for PR children will give us (me and m wife) more chance to get our new PR cards.
