I got my study permit for a degree program in biochemistry in the university of Manitoba but now I want to switch to a health care program in Ontario because I can’t find the program I want in Manitoba, will this affect me in getting my PR?

You need to reapply for a new study permit

How long have you been studying at the University of Manitoba?
I was suppose to start my program on the 2nd of September this month with ICM(international college of Manitoba) program for 8 months first before starting the 3 years program at the university of Manitoba, right now am in the process of deferment so I can apply for a college in Ontario because I can’t find a certificate program in health care aide that I want in Manitoba.

You need a new study permit once you get acceptance into the Ontario college. IRCC has changed the rules and to change schools if you have never studied at ICM, you need a new permit or you need to be actively studying at ICM. So you need to complete the first semester or first year.

IRCC has cracked down on students like you. Getting a study permit for a university program that is more expensive and then changing to a college program as a health aide.

Calm down. There was no discrimination or judgement here. "Students like you" simply means students who change their minds about their DLI after getting SP, whether the reason is genuine or not. Simple as that. I once fell in that category and I see nothing wrong with it.

And with regards to OP, it's obvious their action was premeditated - you apply for visa to a recognised DLI and after you get your SP you suddenly decide to change to a diploma at a college (lower degree). Clearly, the chances of approval would have been lower if they applied with LOA from a college. We've seen this happen so many times. IRCC has picked up on that too, hence the new rule.

If the OP is confident in their new college program, there should be no worries about being approved again.

I know what the OP meant dear.. but we are all here to give our opinions if asked. We are all Volunteers in this forum Not VOs!! Even VO can not comment on someone personally..they only comment on applications not persons. And above was a direct comment on someone else. We dont know for sure what are the genuine reasons behind someone's intentions of changing his or her DLI. So stick to general opinions not personal attacks.

If He need to apply study permit with new letter of acceptance?? I don’t think so he can get in fall term now if he can not study on his same study permit . Because study permit takes time at least 2 months so he needs to wait for January ???
Am I right ??
Thanks
