Urgent renewal - additional documents requested. Please Help

Hi,

Please someone with experience like Leon, help me. I have sent my complete application for urgent renewal with proof of travel, today i received a letter stating this:

"For the purposes of determining if you have upheld the residency obligations in meeting the requirements for a Permament Resident Card, please provide us with proof of your residency in Canada"

Marked with marker the following: "Complete pages of your passport/travel documents.


I already sent them my passport copies, i think what they are asking for is my passport when i became permament resident in 2009, but in 2010 my country changed to biometric passports and i exchanged it with the old one, so i don't have it. All of my stamps are on the new one.

Should i send anything else with the letter? Make again an excel sheet of my entry/exits. Doctor check ups, etc.?

You are now no longer in the urgent renewal queue. The moment that you are asked to submit extra information, you can forget the stated processing time.

What i asked was the proof of being and living in Canada they are asking for, can i prove it with phone bills and calls during the whole year and send them the bills?

It's certainly evidence, but it's not proof really. Anyone could make those calls on your behalf.
Things like pay stubs or medical appointments where it HAS to be you attending are better.
I think that the problem is that there have been some very well organised scams in the past where "proof" has been manufactured by a third party to cover a PR's absence...

Phone records are not so helpful. Notice of Assessments are better. If you work for a large reputable employer, a letter from the HR or payroll department of your employer stating that you are an employee can also help.
