Urgent question regarding AVR

I need to travel to Canada to activate my PR. I currently have a H1B stamped for my previous employer till August 31st. I have an approved 1797 notice for H1B through my current employer. Will I be allowed to enter back into US through land border using AVR? Do I need to get COVID test when I come back to U.S?

I recently got back to US using AVR, however I had an expired F1 and I797. But I think you should be fine, you can still use AVR as long as you have a current unexpired I797. Also, not sure about land borders but I needed a Covid test taken within 3 days to check-in.

Great, congratulations. Where did you go to get the test done? Was it PCR/molecular test and how much did it cost?

Yeah it was a PCR test and I got it done at Switch Health lab. It costed around $150. Results came back in a day.
