My Canadian hubby is coming down to Arizona to drive our Jeep, dog and boat to Canada.. Our belongings will arrive at the boarder at a later date so it will just be us driving over with a suitcase, dog, jeep and boat. My question is... IF I have bank statements, pay check stubs, my letter that hes been approved to sponsor me, a return airline ticket from Toronto... CAN I go over the boarder with him for "visiting" for the Thanksgiving holiday?? I was going to go over the boarder with a family member but they got to scared to bring me for some ODD reason and here it is 4 days before we are to leave... HELP which way do I approach this?

Between you and me I am going to visit there until my application is approved

Thanks for your quick response!

What is your citizenship? Btw, it is Border. Not boarder

Personally, it seems like TOO MUCH for me to show up at the border with, for just an (ahem) visit.

As an american (holding american passport). You only need your passport to cross canada to visit. You just have to prove that you will return to US. Your airplane ticket is good. Make sure to have an address where you will stay in canada on hand.

Arriving with your husband who is already in the process of sponsoring you and with a return ticket, I think it is very unlikely for you to be denied entry.

Thank you for your responses , Leon I really value your opinion as I have watched your advice though the months here..... I think your right, if I have a return ticket it really does make sense that I drive up with my husband to make the trip safe for him and have a return ticket in hand..... I thought about renting a car with my return ticket in hand but then thought it might seem weird that he crosses after me with our car and dog right?

Being visa exempt, it is not really that common to be denied entry in the first place but if it happens it is usually because immigration thinks you may overstay. Now, you have a sponsorship application going so you have thereby shown that you are doing things by the book and you have a return ticket so you are showing that you are actually not staying in Canada this time, you will be visiting and that's why you have a return ticket. If you tell them you must return to a job, that's even better.

Perfect Leon thats exactally what I am going to tell them as I have been at my job here for 10 years, I was planning on bringing a recent paycheck stub as well but I didnt want it to be over kill if you know what I mean... Having the return ticket does show intent to go back and stating I was helping my husband bring our jeep, dog and boat over doesnt seem to be too far fetched as its kinda the truth lol ....

One more quick question if you dont mind... I was going to wait until I was there to change the address with the CIC, should I give my daughters address in the US or give the address of the Townhouse my husband is renting?

thanks again!

Give the address where you get your mail faster in case immigration wants to contact you. It doesn't really matter.

Take the pay stub just in case. Only show if asked for proof of a job.
