Urgent Query regarding official passport

Hi folks,

I got AOR from Nova Scotia and now have to send express entry profile id.

Please suggest me for the following situation:

My wife is in govt service and thus holding official passport. She will quit the job and will make a regular passport only if we pass the medical test.That means before knowing the visa will be confirmed it wont be wise to quit the job. How should i deal with this? Should i put her current passport number in EE profile? How should i let CIC know that my wife will have a new passport when CIC will ask for that to issue visa.

Please suggest in detail.

hi which is your country of residence ? Is that not possible to have both an ordinary and official passport at the same time ?
If yes you could apply for an ordinary passport.

For making regular passport you don't have to quit the govt job. It only needs a permission from Home ministry through proper channel....... To my knowledge, a big bunch of govt official is using regular passport for their individual need/requirements. And this is very much legal....there is nothing wrong in it......you may talk to passport office about their requirement......

For making regular passport you don't have to quit the govt job. It only needs a permission from Home ministry through proper channel....... To my knowledge, a big bunch of govt official is using regular passport for their individual need/requirements. And this is very much legal....there is nothing wrong in it......you may talk to passport office about their requirement......

Hi Marzuk,

Thanks for your suggestion. I guess now a days it is not possible/legal to use two passports at the same time (it was possible earlier but not now when the machine readable passport has been introduced). Govt service holders are using regular passport who has not applied for a official one yet. As soon as you make an official passport you cannot get regular one until you leave the job. As you said about the home ministry permission, i don't think its legal to give someone a new regular passport who is already having an official one. Still i will try to dig a bit more about this.
