Hi All

Please i need your help

was just reviewing the forms and saw i ticked one of my crucial work experiences as self employed

i worked for this company as contractor and got paid through invoices.

i attached all invoices and complete hr letter from the company confirming my duties, daily rate of pay, dates, name, job title etc

is there going to be a problem? company is well known in uk

please help. i ticked self employed but never had my own company. i dont have articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership. i never registered as business

i only submitted invoices for the period of employment which is 1.5 years and complete hr letter

thanks

i think "articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership" only applies to people who have their own business

but in my case i was working as contractor so copies of all invoices and formal letter from the companies hr department confirming my duties, daily rate of pay, dates, name, job title etc should suffice?

sorry i think i didnt clarify earlier properly

technically yes i did the right think in checking self employed since i was working as contractor for this organization. however i have now realized that i checked self employed for this work experience.

the only question is that did i submit the right documents? i did submit full hr letter with all details required by ircc from this company where i was working as contractor. i also submitted all invlices since i was getting paid through invoices

is there anything else i should have submitted? i never registered myself as company or business.

Based on the information you provided above, you were a self-employed individual regardless if you own or not the company. In regards to documentation, I believe you have provided sufficient and appropriate documentation to support your job. Personally, I would have submitted a LOE explaining the job in more details and what made you qualify as "self-employed". i.e. you owned the tools used or provided a significant amount of it to do the job, you didn't work on a regular workweek schedule, things like that. But this is just me. Nevertheless, I wouldn't be worried at all. IRCC can always come back to you and request more documentation.

The letter provided by the company clearly states my fixed number of hours per week and all other details such as duties, title of job, period etc

Was I also supposed to submit my tax documents?

This work was in uk and the only 2 things I submitted were 1) invoices covering 1.5 years plus official letter from the company confirming all other details. Company letter doesn't call me "employee" instead

It says "from this date till this this person (my name) performs this work engagement for this company"

Then other details such as hours salary per day duties etc
