Hi guys,

I got my COPR this week and I plan to do the landing this weekend.
In the meantime, I need to go back to my own country next February for about a month. The problem occurs as I may not be able to get the pr card before my leave.

According to the CIC website, there is a service called "Urgent processing of PR card". I heard someone says it is not for first time pr card applicants (new immigrants) but I really cannot find such info on the CIC website to support this statement.
Does anyone ever applied "urgent processing of PR card" as a first-time card applicant?

It will be nice to have the pr back before my travel, otherwise I need to consider applying travel document as my second option.

Right now, the website says new PR cards are being processed in 21 Calendar days. I think it will take longer over the holidays, but you should be OK.

If it doesn't arrive before you leave, you might need to get the travel document. If you can have someone check your mail while you're away, and have them fedex it to you, that would be another option.

Made an appointment for landing next Tuesday at local CIC office. Hopefully, things will work out eventually.

Now processing time around one month. But during Christmas holidays, they may not work and it may take more time to receive pr card.
