Urgent: PR card

Hey guys,

I got my pr in December but haven't received the pr card yet and I'm going on vacation. I'm going to Iran. I know you need the card to enter Canada but I have no choice and I'm only staying for 2 weeks. does anybody have a similar experience? Is it possible they won't let me in? thx

Have you tried calling CIC asking about the delay?
People who landed in Jan are receiving their cards. You should get it within this month.

yes I did and I got a letter saying something was wrong with my pictures. I took new pictures and sent it right a way with a letter of explanation

In my case, it tooks almost 4 months to received PR card. However, If you still did not get PR card by the time you going to Iran, you can apply permanent resident travel document via Canadian embassy or VFS from your country in order to return to Canada without PR card. Wish you will get PR card soon.

Please note that, make sure you will obtain PRTD within vacation period, you should contact VFS from you home country.

I sent my pictures yesterday and explained to them that it was urgent. the problem with travel document is that there is no Canadian embassy in Iran and right now it's new year's holidays so there is no way I can receive it in 2 weeks. that's why I'm wondering what would happen when I arrive and don't have my pr card?

The airline won't let you board the airplane back to Canada without either a valid PR card or a valid Travel Document. So you must have one of these to return to Canada.

If you have a valid B1/B2 visa, then drive to US and board a return flight from US. Once you are back in US, drive back to Canada.
This works effortlessly if your itinerary is not fixed and you are located near the border

You may need to re-route your return flight, stop in Turkey and get a travel document from there, or if you think it will be in your mailbox while you're away, you can ask someone in Canada to bring or send it to you.

in my opinion with all respect of other opinions , i think its better to cancel to fly ticket until you get PR card in your hands and go in vacation with peace and love , i think to lose a littel bit of money bettre then lose many years fighting for this PR card ,

even you go in vacation without PR card it will not be a vacation any more ,i think you understand what i mean , think twice bro

I had to come I had no choice. I was hoping I would get my card this week and friends could mail it to me but unfortunately it didn't. my flight back to Canada is on Thursday. I'm coming from Iran. no idea what to do?

You won't be allowed to board the airplane. You must apply for PR travel document to get into Canada.
