Hello everyone!
I am preparing studying in Canada very soon. But there're still lots of things confused me. Really need someone to help me out. Thanks in advance. Any advice will be appreciate!
I am interested in taking Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Program. But I have no study background or work experience related to this field. Unfortunately I haven't meet the requirement for the program. My IELTS overall is 6, the requirement is 6.5. The instructor advices me to take the ESL course first, then attend to the AME main course.
So basically I got the conditional offer from the college, I am wondering if I can go to the ESL without a Study Permit (less than 6 months of course), then I apply SP for AME program in Canada? Or it is necessary for me to get a SP first in my case? I am really confused because there's a new rule for international students after 1 June 2014.
Why I am doing this way is because:
1. I am not sure if I like Canada or if I will get used to it ( I haven't been there)
2. I still have the chance to change my mind to enroll other profession.
(My goal is studying a skill then apply PR, so other profession is also considerable.)
But the disadvantage is I need to pay more money on ESL course, I know many of you may think ESL course is a waste and should learn English in home country. But the good thing is I can experience Canada first, then decide if I want to stay any longer or not!?
The other thing I am worried about is if I apply Study Permit in Canada after ESL course and being refused, then the ESL course will be totally a waste...
What's your opinion!?
