I have completed the first part of my application for a working holiday visa in Canada but I'm absolutely baffled about how hard it is.

I have sent my personal data and my resume, and I paid for the working holiday visa. Then I got a conditional acceptance letter, so I thought that was it.

Now.. They want my to create a myCIC account and fill out a come to Canada questionnaire which will provide me with a code.

I filled out that questionnaire 5 times already and there doesn't seem to be an end point. When I complete all questions and then try to exit, it says " are you sure you wish to leave " as if it is not completed. I end up with no code or whatsoever.

On this verification page, it asks for a client ID (''issued by immigration") which I do not have because nothing was issued. All I have is an account number which was emailed in my kompass account

I have been sent an email in my kompass account, but that has an "account number" which is not the same as "client ID"

I also had many technical errors trying to complete the come to canada questionnaire.

I only have 2 weeks to complete these questionnaires before it expires and it keeps going wrong.

Where do I find my client ID? And how do I receive information after completing the come to canada questionnaire?

It's urgent, thanks

here's that come to Canada questionnaire

It provides you with a "personal checklist" in the end, which I assume is this page. Then at the bottom it says exit questionnaire and when I click that it says " are you sure you wish to leave? " without giving me any code to proceed

How do I overcome this?

And what is the next step after this? On the home page there are many things to apply for. Visit, work permit..
I have paid for a working holiday visa, which is basically visiting and working in the mean time to support myself.
What should I select to apply?

I have not received a visa yet.
I am trying to complete the next step of my application, which is to create a myCIC account.
This is what it says in my kompass email:

IEC has assessed your application and is pleased to confirm that you are conditionally accepted to the IEC initiative for 2014.

This letter does not authorize you to enter Canada. To continue with the application process, you must submit a work permit application online through MyCIC before the expiry date of this conditional acceptance letter. This conditional acceptance letter expires on 2014-04-22.

To create your MyCIC account, visit the website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and complete the Come to Canada questionnaire.

Based on your answers, CIC will provide you with a checklist of all the documents you need to submit with your work permit application. One of these documents will be this IEC Conditional Acceptance Letter.

If your work permit application is approved, you will receive a Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction (form IMM 5665) in your MyCIC account. You need this letter to enter Canada.

We strongly recommend that you do not book or pay for any travel to Canada, buy health-care insurance for your stay in Canada or make any commitments to employers, landlords or roommates before you receive your POE Letter of Introduction.

We invite you to consult the Guide to Canada on the IEC website.

The image in my 2nd post, is that the checklist I need?
It doesn't look like it. It just says "you need a medical exam in this and this condition" All those things do not apply to me

I just want to know what the next step is

This is what I mean

I completed the questionnaire and then I get this message

I have filled out the questionnaire 6 times now and I have not received any personal checklist.

The final page offers links to special conditions for medical exams etc, which do not apply to me.

I'm sorry, i'm confused now
I don't know what you wanted to do
Since they've asked you to create CIC account; you should create one for yourself...
you haven't gotten your work permit so you might want to apply for work permit first

They are confusing me too.
They say the next step is to create a myCIC account, by completing the come to Canada questionnaire.

The questionnaire should give me a personal checklist (by email?) which I have not received. I assume that the final page I have shown above, is not that checklist. It is not personal anyway.

I hope somebody can provide me a link to what I should do next, because I am getting very confused.
Since the questionnaire didn't work out, I tried to apply for a work permit on the site.

I had to look under immigration - work and then it offers a whole bunch of different options depending on where I want to apply from. It also says I would have to pay for the application, which is very strange because I have already paid for my working holiday visa

This is starting to make me angry and I hope somebody can give a link to what I should do next.

I emailed a correspondent in my kompass account, but I get no reply and this will expire soon

Ok.. First of all you need to calm down and not get angry.. If you are calm.. everything will fall in place. Here is the link !!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/cometocanada.asp

Now my friend, continue to answer all the questions here and then it will generate a check list.. You wont get any email but it will generate a checklist on the last screen once u answer all the questions.

once you are done with this. Create your cic account by following this link :

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp

If you have already created one , please login and select the option where it says apply for a work permit. It will ask you for that checklist code and everything will then make sense to you.

If this doesnt help let me know !!Try doing it on a laptop as Cic website acts funny on ipad.

Thank you buddy.

I'm not an angry guy, I just got frustrated yesterday. I am traveling in Asia and the plan is to do that for another 3 months.
I wonder.. Imagine I complete the full application by the end of this week, how long will it still take before I get a green light to book my ticket to Toronto and start the working holiday?
When these 3 months are over I will take a short break back home, but I don't plan to stay there longer than 3 months waiting for the final answer.

I was doing this yesterday and I thought "the longer this takes, the longer I will have to sit back in boredom before I can come over"

Anyways..

Thank you for this advice, my friend

Safe travels

I

Great. Did it work for you in the end ?

Now - The website says that it may take upto 8 weeks for the application to be finalised but if they ask for further information it may take longer. Make sure you include every document that they ask for and dont leave anything pending. For eg - Include ur police checks , if you have lived in VIC or QLD ( check the states - I could be wrong ) you also need a driver history report. If you have lived in another county for more then 6 months you need a police check from them too.

My application got approved in 24 hours. I applied for work permit on 21st Jan 2014 and when I woke up on 22nd it was all approved.

Let me know if you need anything else. Would be delighted to help ;-)

Hi Guys,
I am also having some diffculty with the "Come to Canada" Questionnaire.

I have clicked on the Come to Canada link, a window appears and I pressed "Start", then a page came up and I clicked the "Start Application" button.

When I click this, the page has errors - See picture.

I have tried this on internet explorer and google chrome and I tried it at work and at home on my wifi.

Has anyone else had this problem ?
