Friends, Can you please advise me on my situation.
I have a valid WP and am currently working in Canada. My spouse is on a visitor visa it expired last month and have filed for her extension of stay before the expiry of her visitor Visa. Once her application is approved, I believe that she will only be issued a visitor record and not a visitor visa. Hence, I would need to apply for her visitor visa again. When I received my WP, my spouse details (Full Name, DOB, Relationship) are also printed on my WP.

My question is, based on my WP, can I go ahead and apply for a visitor visa for both of us? Please advice urgently.

The way you described is quite confusing. When you have a valid work permit why do you want to apply for visitor visa for both of you??
In theory if you have a work permit you can apply a dependent work permit for your wife too.

I applied for a dependant WP as well for my spouse but the processing time is a little longer. I have to travel outside Canada and need a visa to come back. I really cant wait for my spouse visitor record/WP to arrive. Hence, can I just apply for a visitor visa from within Canada based on my closed WP containing details of my spouse?
