Hello All,

I got AOR on march 3, 2017 with my wife PCC obtained in india on January 31, 2017. She lived there from September 2016 to Feb 2017. She left to Canada on Feb 22, 207. I submitted my application with her PCC dated on January 31, 2017 according to the IRCC instruction. They mentioned as follows

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

Now I am worrying that I made a big mistake. I should have got new PCC once she reached Canada.

My question is do I need to submit a new PCC through CSE? CIC clearly mentioned that PCC is valid for six month if she received it before leaving. Experts please advice me.

Thanks

Yes she will need a new PCC. Your AOR is in March. She lived 22 more days in that country before exiting on Feb 22 which would make it her last date of visit.

As I clarified you in other thread, you need to check the CIC intake link which clearly states it need to be after they left a country if the country is not residence country. Either ways it doesn't harm to get one and submit as it just takes one day to get Indian PCC from embassy.

There is your answer. Indian PCCs don't take long. Don't jeopardize your application and raise a CSE and submit a new, updated PCC.

My medicals passed last week. My medical certificate was 4 and half months old and it was obtained in India on October 13,2016. If I need to submit new PCC I have to get it on the same day. Let me know if you know how to get PCC on the same day.

This seems to be a religious discussion in this forum and everyone has their PoV.

My PoV is that you're fine!

If you look here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

It clearly states "are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply."

You wife's case is simple, it was issued before she left BUT it was issued within 6 months before your AOR, so you're fine!

To me the point below that which states "have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory." is only applicable to PCCs issued OVER 6 months ago.

Bottom line, I think you're fine but if getting a new PCC will give you ease of mind then go ahead...

Hey karthik506! I see that you received your PPR. Did you submit a new PCC for your wife or you continued with the one dated January 31, 2017? I am in the same situation here with my wife getting her PCC 15 days before leaving the country. however her PCC is still within the 6 months period.

Yes. I submitted new PCC for my wife. I would recommend to do the same to avoid any delay/risks. All the best

Hi Landi, did you get new PCC for your wife ?
Yes I did. I sent a new PPC for my wife using the CSE. The only response I got so far is that the new documents I sent were received and transmitted to the visa office processing my application. Good luck!

When I applied, my GF went back to her come country to obtain a PCC. So the PCC was actually issued 3 weeks before she flew back. Sent everything and no issues whatsoever. MEP/IP2 since March 28th.
