Plzz suggest me which college is best for human resources management post graduation certificate one year course? ? Whethet centennial college is good for this course ?? Centennial college has 8 months human resources management ? Without co-op .it means I will have work permit for 8 months only after course from centennial ?? Will this create problem in gettin PR?

Checkout Business Management - Human Resources at Lambton at Sarnia. It is a 2 year course that has 3 sems and 1 co op term.

The fees will be only for 3 sems approx. $18000 and $500 to $700 for the co op term which is comparatively low as compared to a full 2 years course without co op.

I am planning for the same for Jan 14 intake. Heard negatives about the place (Sarnia) and college too but still giving it a try.

Btw, where are you from?

I recieved offer letter of centennial for hrm for January intake..I am from haryana (yamunamagar )

Yamana Nagar, you reminded of lot of old memories such as Paunta Sahib and that paper mill. Anyway talking about your concern,

These are the following all colleges offering HRM program in Ontario;

http://www.ontariocolleges.ca/SearchResults/BUSINESS-FINANCE-ADMINISTRATION-HUMAN-RESOURCES/_/N-lhz3Z1z141wm?Ns1=Program_Title_SORT&Ns2=0

Most of the PG programs in HRM are usually of 1 year. If you go by info in black and white, yes you should get 8 months work permit. But if we go by what actually happens, people get 1 year work permit. Now, though 1 year work permit is also enough to find a job depending on your networking skills, academic standing, but mostly it's difficult to find a job in relevant field. What you can also do is, after completion of this program, you can opt for Public Relation program of 1 year which is a perfect match for HRM and this fetches you three years work permit. And now 3 years are good enough to look for right job and secure PR.

Wish you luck!

Sabby - What are your views about Business Management - HR which is for 2 years at Lambton, Sarnia.

will that be good enuf to fetch a 3 year work permit and then PR. This course also co op. I know that Sarnia wouldn't help find a co op and one might think to relocate for co op term.

If you are talking just about PGWP, yes this program should fetch you 3 years PGWP. But did you check with the college if they provide you with co-op I mean do they provide you internship or do you need to look for an employer yourself, is ths CO-OP paid or not?

Are you also aware that in this program mostly you will have virtual classes?

Sarnia isn't as big as Toronto as in city but still it's a lovely place. I know some alumni of this college but from Bio Programs, not really sure if they can be of any help to you, but if you wish to speak with them about how the college is, I can arrange for it.

Wow ... Could you please arrange some1 from the alumni? I would love to talk to them and figure out how the college is.

About co op, this program comes with co op only and yes it is a paid co op and it seems they help u find it.

Also, if i get co op, i have to study for 3 sems and 4th sem becomes ur co op. I hope this would still be eligible for a 3 year wp. The course term would still be considered as 2 years right?
My other concern is Sarnia. Does this place provide any part time? Don't think of paying my tuition fees but yes anything that helps me support my living is desirable.

Sabby - I must say, u are doing a wonderful job in helping out ppl here. Kudos to u my friend!

You didn't share your complete profile before. Hence I was assisting on HRM programs. Why would you do HRM now? BA and LLB makes sense and after this a course in legal services makes more sense. Hence that's what should be your area of focus. I will provide you some info tomorrow as it's time for me to retire.

Rehyan, I have spoken with two alumni and will update you tomorrow morning.

I didn't get u abt this complete profile ..I dnt know about how to change prifile settings and all.

Hi..

Could u elaborate a lil on how we get a work permit of 1 year for such programs which quote 1 year but they have just 2 sems.. (Jan - Aug).. I m facing the same situation.. Wondering if I will end up with 8 months PGWP.. :( :(

Well as I have quoted couple of times, as per rules in black and white, you get work permit of a duration in consideration of length of program you have completed. However, on the other hand practically, 1 year program fetches 1 year pgwp and 2 years fetches 3 years PGWP. Now, many students have tried this trick of 1 year program + 1 semester program = 3 years PGWP.
