Hi members,

I am in a complex situation, I am MI-1 applicant and currently my PP's are with NDVO since 1st May 2013. Now my employer wants me to travel outside India for some project work for 2 -3 months, but so far I haven't informed my employer that my PP's are with VO.

Can anyone guide what should I do in this situation as neither asking VO to return the passport is a good idea, nor telling the truth to employer.

Seniors pls guide....

tell him passport given for renewal or reason of lamination removed from passport so applied for changed one

idea is good... but one concern...Passport reissue normally takes 1 month, but we dnt know how much time NDVO will take to stamp visa and if after 1 month or so he ask again.. I will not be able to say it again...

for the timebeing, you need to get time......who knows if you get passport in 15 days

Hi Jotgrewal,

Interesting situation indeed!

There are two directions, in my view.

1. In case your current position / relationship in the Office is very cordial, I believe there is no harm in hinting to someone in your Office (whom you trust) about your possible trip to Canada on say, some family connections (or any other reason you can think of) and therefore, you have given your Passport for Stamping. Adding that getting the PP back is taking time and therefore you are not able to commit any timeline.

2. In case you are apprehensive about disclosing in your Office, then, as others have mentioned in the responses, you can give such answers.

Remember, at the end of the whole episode, you would need to inform your Office when you are leaving the Country on the PR Visa. So keep the end in focus.

Good Luck.

Regards.
