We have AOR since Dec, based on AINP nomination.
We were refused extension of our Open Work Permits due to fact, that apparently I suppose to send a copy of nomination.
The forms did not mention it, we applied for extensions based on Alberta Pilot Program Visas we originally had, not AINP!
Our status expired TODAY! We can't work anymore...
To restore status will take ages, we can't afford that! Would they restore it at the first place?!
Any suggestions? Would going to the border help? Would they have the power to extend our work permits there?
Desperate... Thanks for any help...

first you have to contact ainp office and ask for a support letter then apply a restoration and extension of work permit at the same time.

you can't apply restoration and extension at the border. once you leave the country you can't apply for a restoration.

I was told ainp does not send out those support letters anymore. Except if cic requests one :-/

Who can stay in Canada and not work for few months, while they process your application?! Under the bridge maybe...
What if we leave and get a completely new work permit, based on our PR application and AINP?
We are in Canada 3 years so we should be able to get 1 more year (up to 4).

Just curious did you ever try to apply for LOS , I emailed AINP for LOS at 9.53 am they replied at 12.45 pm so I suggest you should try that 1st and from there follow the processing time for WP renewals or extension son CIC website. u dont have to leave the country and might find peace in few months

Thanks for help everyone!
We had to go to the border, had no other choice. At the call center lady informed us that (due to immigrations mistake) our daughter is in Canada without a status for the last 2 years!!! What a mess :( They forgot to put her on our extensions!
Anyway, we are now on 6 months visitor visas... But at least legal and she can continue education.
We were told at the border that we need LMIA now to get a working visa. Shouldn't we be LMIA exempt, as the PR is in process? Also, what is that LOS from AINP "TrackIT" is talking about? How could that help now?

LOVE FORUMS!!! :) :) :)

Thats true Sandra, since you are refused, then send them a copy of the refusal and explain that the reason of refusal is the expired nomination along the way while processing the wp extension.

Did they tell you at the border that it was legal for your daughter to continue her studies? A visitor visa does not allow you to study. You (her parents) must be holding a valid work permit in order for her to be able to legally study in Canada. Otherwise she needs a study permit.

She has it on her own document now, that she is allowed to go to school. Even kids with no status or parents being illegally in Canada are allowed to attend in primary PUBLIC schools.
We just sent Letter of Support request, LOS, fingers crossed!
Thanks for the tip ;)

That's incorrect. Children can only attend public school legally without a study permit if:

- They are attending kindergarten
- Their parents are refugee claimants
- Their parents have valid work permits or study permits

As long as you have paperwork stating she is allowed to study - you're good.

We do, on her visitor visa the officer put it down. I suppose he felt sorry for us...
Another question: as we are LMIA exempt, after we get the Letter of Support, do we still need the registered on CIC website job offer? Would a normal written job offer do? My husband also has an incorporated business, could he "give himself" from the company a job offer, if we need it?
Thanks.
