Hey there, hope whoever is reading this is doing well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. A bit of background on the issue. My Australian partner and I have been together and living in Canada for 2 years. His working holiday visa expired this past September. We applied for a visitor extension right before it expired. We received an email last month which we thought meant our extension was approved. We made a huge mistake in reading it because we got the letter today. He was granted a visitor record extension which expires in one week. So we are freaking out a bit because due to covid, I cant get into australia and its going to cost him a lot of money for him to get in. We dont want to be separated and we were in talks of getting married and starting his sponsorship before today happened. Here are our questions:
1. Is there a reappeal process that we can undertake in the next week to buy more time
2. If he leaves, can he get back in on a new visitor visa. Maybe he can go to the US and come back
3. Do we have any other options
4. Can we apply for a visitor record extension, asking for more time so we can start his inland sponsorship
Thank you so much for reading and appreciate your time.
