Hi,

My name is Syed Ibrahim. I am planning to go to Canada for Jan'14 intake. I was inclined towards the course "Human Resource Management" offered by Seneca college BUT this is a 1 year program which will give me a work permit of 1 year which I don't want. I need work permit atleast for 2 years.

I need your inputs as to which course suits best for my profile with affordable colleges. Also, there are a few questions that need to be answered. I have posted them below.

My profile -
1. Done my Bachelors in Business Administration
2. I have a total working experience of 4+ years (20 months in HSBC and currently working with Thomson Reuters)

My job profile is all about Payroll/ payroll adjustments for our company's sales reps that work in the U.S. BUT my designation on paper is Senior process associate

Questions -

1. How much funds do I need to show during the Visa process in order to successfully obtain a student visa?
2. Does IELTS score play any role in the Visa decision? If yes, how much should the score be?

I would be glad if anyone out there can help me with my questions. I am really confused at this moment since this is a big decision in my life.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Regards,
Syed Ibrahim,
India

Cant anyone help me on this 1. Please.... I beg!!! I am really confused!!!

1. for visa if u read on chc website its 1 year ution fees+ 1year living expenses + travel expenses anything more than this is an advantage.
2.yes IELTS score plays a big part....for college i believe more than 6 and for university more than 6.5 ...not sure exact numbers.....aim for as high as possible...

Thanks so much for your response. Can you suggest any colleges and courses. I am looking out for a 2 year course around Human Resource or Business Administration. I have a total of 4 years of full time working experience with bachelors in business administration.

Why are you not trying for MBA ? You have experience and if you get good GMAT score you will get in good university.

It's 2year course and you will get work permit of 2years or 3years.

Well MBA is also a good option BUT that I believe that has become very generic. But I will keep that in mind. GMAT kinda scares .... On the other hands other courses require only IELTS which I think I can manage. Do you suggest any other PGD courses?

I am so so sorry to say this ... but I am kinda Anti-MBA... that feeling has grown into me from quite-some-time now....

Are PGD course not advisable? I plan for a PR once I am done with my studies and start working!!

best thing for u would be to look at different colleges and universites and to look at their course structure and what they teach.....collages r mostly for hands on people /trade skills .....university degrees r better for desk jobs .....but again look at course structure...
