Hello everyone,

I have just recently became a permanent resident of Canada, so my PR card is not yet in my hands:

Question:

  • Before becoming a permanent resident, I was visiting my spouse in Canada on the basis of a "MUTIPLE ENTRY VISITOR VISA" with a validity of 2 YEARS.
  • After my PR application abroad was finalized, & submitting my passport for visa issuance, I was issued a "ONE ENTRY IMMIGRANT VISA"
  • I landed recently as a permanent resident of Canada, as a normal procedure, they scratched the IMMIGRANT VISA to make sure this can only be used once! However... my previous "MULTIPLE ENTRY VISITOR VISA" was not canceled. in fact, it is quiet there, & has still a validity of another 8 months.

I must urgently go to Europe for business, & I would like to know if I can still use my current multiple entry visa, which is still valid for another 8 month, or will I have to apply for a temporary travel document at the visa OFFICE in Paris using the specific form? "Different form than for the visitor visa application"

Thank you

I just got the confirmation that my current VISA was enough for me to re-enter Canada.

Thanks but I almost wasted 50$ for nothing...

Which visa are you going to use? The multiple entry visitor's visa?

yes. I asked at the airport of Montreal passeport checking & since it says "MULTIPLE, EXP APR 2010." they said it wouldn't be a problem. that they would let me board in Brussels. but arriving at Montreal Trudeau, would there be a problem?

Paris's visa office would deliver me a visa immediately, but Paris is 300Km away from Brussels & I must apply & pay a 50$ fee with that simplified form.
