Hi,

I would say wait for the new work permit.

If you have applied for work permit extension, you are on implied status. You can apply for PR.

When sending docs for PR, attach the confirmation receipt for WP app.

Did you submit app for WP online?

if you applied online, then you would have received submission confirmation letter in my cic account.

can I attach that letter with my application ????????????
and I Have to write regarding that ?
and one more question ---
I have police clearance from backhome only,Do I need Canadian one too or not????????

Do write something along with that letter. Let them know you will update them once you receive your new work permit. But currently work permit is being processed within 7 days. So even you could wait if you want.

You "DON'T" need canadian police certificate but I would highly encourage to apply with RCMP fingerprints record check. Google RCMP fingerprints and you will get the details. Go for the online one as it takes less than 3 business days and I think it has no fee.

Hope this helps !

Hello Arif...I am applying for PR soon and I was wondering the same....Does providing the RCMP fingerprint record check expedite the process? Or how does it help in the application?

Besides- Although there is no RCMP fee for record check you still have to pay around 50 bucks for getting the fingerprints done. You get the letter from RCMP in a week.

Basically when you send your app to CIO-NS, your criminality checks starts with sending your name to RCMP record check. In case you have similar name to someone who's on their list, it can be detrimental to your file. That's why it's preferred.

I guess I will send it anyways then...another question ...I am in canada since the age of 17....do you know if people have been asked for Police clearance from their home country even when they were under 18 ?
