I landed on sep 25 and was expecting the PR card this week. I called CIC today and they said the card producing center requires new pictures and I have to send them asap. They have not told me how long would it take to produce the card after they receive the new pictures. I have to travel outside Canada in a 4 weeks and am tensed now.

Anyone with similar experience?

Re: ***URGENT***Issues with producing PR Card

Honestly, do it ASAP - I imagine that as soon as they receive the photos, it will be done.

jes_on, I just now posted a covering letter, new photos, COPR, my confirmed travel tkts to Sydney, NS. They will receive it on Monday. Hopefully they will process the card soon...Just wanted to know if there was an option to submit the photos at a local cic office....I read some old posts that people also submitted at the local cic office in their area..

Is there anyone who experienced this earlier....please let me know your experience...

Seniors, please help me to understand the processing time for PR card once the new photos reach Sydney, NS. I really need some info since I need to travel via UK to India and it would not be possible without a valid PR card as UK follows a DATV system :'(

Hi ceclmo777,
I'm facing a similar situation. I called up CIC and they told me to send the new pictures(email from CIC Call Center Agent). COPR was not mentioned in the email.
I have sent them without the COPR document. Two days later, I have received the Photo Requirement letter from CIC which also included to send me the COPR.
I'm going to call CIC today and see the status of my PR processing card.

Br85, couple of questions.

1. When is it that you completed your landing?

2. How long has it been after you sent the new photos?

3. Was this the address given to you via email for sending the new photos?

Case Processing Centre -
Permanent Residence Card
P.O. Box 4500
Sydney, Nova Scotia
B1P 6L1

I have a travel to India via London on Dec 26 and I would not be able to board the flight without a valid PR card :(

[br85]:I sent it last week. But I received the letter from CIC only this week. I sent it along with the email which was sent by CIC Agent.

br85,

Do you know when was your letter issued by CIC requesting your new photos?

I sent the COPR as well but forgot the attach a copy of the email. But, I dont think it should be an issue as CIC already know that they requested for new photos. Coming to your case where you forgot to send the COPR, I dont feel it should be an issue too as they already have the original COPR which the border mails them when you complete your landing.

The below link explains how COPR is processed after an applicant completes landing. (Expand the distribution section).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob545.asp

Also, did you track your mail to make sure the new photos are delivered? Please let me know what CIC tells you after your call with them today.

I will be waiting. Lets stay in touch.

Hi Ceclmo777,
The letter was issued on 30th Oct.
I called up CIC and informed them I got this letter which has asked me to send my COPR doc along with the photos. My package was delivered on 8th. No updates related to the package.
The call center agent has asked me to send the COPR now(coz it was mentioned in the letter).
I will be sending the photos and COPR again today. :(

Ahh!!! that's bad.. :(..What I suggest is just call up CIC and ask them the status of your PR card. Dont tell any thing about COPR not mailed with your photos...That way, atleast you will be able to know the status whether they have received your photos or not and what are they doing with the processing of the card..

My photos are out for delivery today...fingers crossed... :(

Isn't the photos not supposed to be sent within 180 days.
I'm not sure whether to wait for another week or send the copies(with new photos) again today.
I might be travelling by jan, so I don't want to get into issues waiting for card.

The photos should be sent within 180 days from the date of request. Have you called CIC to check what is the current status? I suggest you to do that before you resend the new photos. Who knows, your PR card might have already shipped...When the agent told you to send the COPR again, did he check your file and tell you the status of the card?

The agent checked the file and said there are no changes/updates on the file(probably it was only one week).
This is what the CIC Agent told me:
The emails from CIC Agents are generic one and if the CIC letter has asked you to send the COPR document, then please send the document along with the explanation saying the photos have been sent already.
I'm confused now whether to send the COPR doc and new photos or wait for the updates from CIC?

I would suggest, send new photos again along with the COPR and a copy of the letter received from CIC.
