Dear All,

I am little confused right now. I want to apply for Canadian immigration here is my profile:

Work experience: 3+ years of full time experience in my field
Qualification: BS (Software development) -
Have relatives in Canada

The problem is my BS degree is of 4 years ( 2001 - 2005 ) but my degree says its (2001 - 2008). I completed all of my courses and class work on time i.e sept 2005 but didnt submitted my final year project till 2008.

I talked to couple of agents as well, one of them said it is not a problem but the other said Canadian embassy will count the experience from the day of degree submission.

Pls help me out here... Am I qualifying or ...

Thanks & Regards,
Rahil Ali

Quick question: if you did not finish (based on date of submission of your project) till 2008; how did you start working using the degree you did not have? I would assume that your project is part of requirements to fulfill before receipt of a degree. Therefore technically you actually graduated in 2008! Unless the experience you are talking about is not related to your field of study. If the work experience is as an intern or cooperative (they probably won't count it)

You are right. The final year project is mandatory for the degree. But all my courses were finished right on time. Based on my Transcript from the university I got the job.

I am working as a full-time permanent Software developer... The job is related to what I study...

Can this work ?

Hello ,

If you have passed from India, Then the rule is whichever year you appeared for the final year that year will be marked on your degree.
