Hi guys,

I applied for the Indian Visitor visa through post. I made a silly mistake. I am a Canadian Citizen.

I have entered 'Surrey' as the 'City of birth' instead of Delhi. I entered the correct information in 'The Country of birth' field. Will it be an issue? Please advice.

If you’re a Canadian citizen, you would’ve applied using BLS online service to apply. If you’ve made a mistake, you need to submit a new application as this will regardless get rejected since your city of birth is in India. If you’ve sent the passport along with first application, contact BLS and consulate general of India servicing your province, and you’ll have to start it again

Thanks so much for replying Kumar. I was born in India and I just applied for Surrender Certificate. Should I apply for a Visitor Visa or Entry Visa? I appreciate your help..

You can now apply for Visitor visa. You need more documents such as surrender certificate to apply for Entry visa. Better yet, when you are back from traveling, if you're traveling, apply for OCI. It's the best thing and you won't require a visa to travel to India again. You'll be good till you're 50 years old, and you'll need to reapply after you're 50.

Thanks a ton for all the help Kumar. I truly appreciate it. One last question, in your experience, what's the processing time like for the Indian Visitor Visa?
