Hi all I have a pending problem and would appreciate a solution, my parents left me in 2018, refused to continue paying fees as international student and ordered me to go back home to africa due to some fetish reasons. Got married here 2018 before my study permit expired shortly after that i got involved in a driving charge situation, (not a DUI) but my criminal lawyer i paid $8000 foolishly told me to plead guilty at the trial date in November 2019. i have that driving conviction now after all efforts, got a letter from CBSA to come in in January, went got a deportation notice, i was asked to finish my sponsorship application with my wife which i started since 2018 and spent over $4000 before i come in again for a PRAR notice, i did so on March 3rd, whereas they sent the PRAR interview in Jan 30th letter to wrong address i haven't lived in 5 years. They had to call my wife to reach me and literally gave me 14 days to submit a PRAR Application amidst this COVID-19, now my immigration lawyer charged me $3500 to submit it which i have paid half. I'm frustrated, don't even have a job because study permit expired in 2018. i'm jst here with my graphic design and other side hustles. paying lawyers left and right pls advise me on what to do. I don't have a life back home as my family abandoned me because I choose to stay here.

You mean PRRA?
If that what you mean, I will not pay my Lawyer 3500 just for filling an application. I will advise you to contact legal aid and they will help you to fill out this application without paying any single cents.
Why are you applying for PRRA? Are you a refugee claimant?
PRRA only applies to refugees who has been refused by IRB. It is basically final check from IRB that person will not be in danger when the person deported their country of origin. Do not waste your money to apply for PRRA if you are not refugee claimant.
If you have ongoing sponsorship application through your wife, you can ask CBSA to postpone the deportation. Lucky because of COVID 19 all deportation orders has been suspended until further notice.
Overall your situation seems complicated and you are in wrong hands. I would suggest you to find a better lawyer who understands immigration matters. It may be daunting but try to read following page for spousal sponsorship procedure:

Hi there, it's called a PRRA, Pre-Removal Risk Assessment. Loads of folks apply simply to get the Stay of removal and "buy" some extra time in Canada. The current pandemic will give you this for free.
PRRA, with a criminal conviction, becomes a top priority for both IRCC and the CBSA. You are a pending removals statistic in my opinion, and nothing personal is meant by that. If the criminality is serious then the decision-making is more limited within the PRRA - IRPA A.96 is out and you have only A.97 considerations if people wish to get all technical.
In your place I'd hoard my money for the hard landing back home, but look to find a way to go home without any escorted deportation because of your own re-entry and possible (I don't know where you're from) corruption by your own Customs and Immigration people who might like to detain you until they wring you dry. The CBSA can occasionally "wind up" a deportee in order to detain and escort the removal, so stay nice with the hand-cuff, detention loving CBSA. You are really just a potential overtime cheque for a couple of cement heads, so to speak.
Don't miss appointments, deadlines or change your address without telling the CBSA/IRCC. Don't become the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for your arrest and if they ever do arrest you be certain to have a few grand for a bond release.
