Dear All,

I just heard today from an immigration specialist that PPR is not issued post the second background check for inland applications but rather COPR is issued directly ...re this I have few questions

1) Can anyone who has already been past this stage of INLAND PR processing please confirm on this so that I can know same for sure (very critical to my plans right now as I am planning a trip back home which will get complicated if I later find that PPR is requested)

2) I had read on CIC that the first PR card is issued upon PR issuance directly ...but the agent says one has to apply ...which is it?

3) if PPR is indeed not requested then what is the significance of background check going to "in progress" a second time? I am really apprehensive re this as well as I have been put into that status since Jan 19th this year and still no change in status or emails whatsoever in my CIC account.

ANY and ALL help & shares would be deeply appreciated! Thanks much in advance

1) PPR still happens for inland applicants. If you are from a visa exempt country, you only send passport photos, not your passport.

2) PR card is automatically issued once you land, current processing time about 60 days

3) There are so many theories on the meaning behind status checks etc. I wouldn't read into it too far.

Firstly thanks a ton for the quick response ! Much appreciated !

Your answers for 1 & 2 points are exactly as I knew them ,so thanks for resolving the confusion created by the agent who seems to have been misguided re these.

Now I have a related query which is since PPR will be coming would it be possible to submit same in home country VFS office (India)
Instead of in Canada ?

Also my passport is expiring on Nov end this year ...will they accept same for the PPR visa stamp (I understand the Pr visa is issued till end of medical validity which in my case should mean before expiry of the passport (as I did same before submitting my Pr application around Sept last year)
