Urgent - How to send passports when Canada Post is on Strike

Hi guys,

Anyone needs to send your passport to Ottawa now? What is your plan?

I need to send my passport urgently because the deadline is approaching. However with the Canada Post strike coming I have no idea whether we still need to follow the instruction in the PPR email? It says only pre-paid envelope from Canada post is acceptable. I was told by the post officer that there is a chance of severe delay due to the strike if I stick to Canada Post. So can we use UPS/Fedex pre-paid envelope instead or do we still use the Canada Post and have no idea when our passports will come back? I tried to call CIC but it keeps saying due to the high volume of requests, they are unable to get me talk to someone. Please share me your thoughts. Thanks!

How long do you have till the 30 day deadline? Call centre agents cannot do anything over the phone. Best bet is to send an email to your VO with "urgent" subject.

Thanks for the reply! I just send an email but it usually takes them several days to reply so that's why I also tried to call CIC. I just wonder what other folks facing the same situation plan to do.
