Yes, you can apply for MBA program. It’s a generalist qualification and doesn’t require any particular background. MBA is all about ‘life experiences’ so do not get surprise if you see a Nurse, Musician, Feminist etc. in your MBA cohort.
You need:
1. GMAT score (with minimum of 500 score). Few schools, I guess two, do not require GMAT.
2. Excellent ‘Statement of Purpose’
3. CV
4. Work Experience of around 2 years.
5. Telephonic interview (almost all top ranking schools prefer as such!)
6. At least 2 (if not 3) reference letters. (do not worry they will cross verify it)

No, you have no chance with 5.5 IELTS band score. It MUST be 6.5 overall with no section less thn 6.0.
