Urgent HELP regarding Flagpoling for OWP!!

Hello everyone. I applied for inland spousal sponsorship for my spouse. We got AOR for that on Aug 4 and applied for Open work permit based on that on Aug 8. We are planning to go to the border for flagpoling to get the OWP. My wife is here on VISIT Visa. Is it allowed to flagpole for OWP for inland spousal sponsorship.

I saw this question asked here before and no one was able to provide a clear answer. I’ll be interesting to know about your experience if you come back here with a report about whether or not this worked for you.

Hello, i had same case and my wife was here on visitor visa while her PR application in process (AOR, Medical done).. we tried flagpoling from multiple locaiton (rainbow bridge and also the other one close to Niagara falls) it did not work out. they refused to give us OWP. Then we applied online. Do let me know about your experience if you go for flagpole

Yea they told us apply online we do not take such cases.

My understanding is all done online or through post for those inland (the only ones who are eligible). Hence flagpoling makes no sense at all - you're making guesses about how it works based on older experience with different programs.

Would suggest NOT crossing border for this purpose unless you find out from official sources that this is needed or useful.

You can't flagpole to get an Open work permit under Family Class Sponsor. You all should stop doing such nonsense

So I went to the border today and asked them about getting the work permit. The officer said that spousal sponsorship application for PR are not eligible for flagpoling. Only those sponsorships whose spouse are on study permit or work permit are eligible.

I think the CBSA officer meant SOWP for ppl whose spouses are on study or work permit.

Yes your spouse must either be from a visa exempt country or current be on another permit to qualify for flagpoling.
