Hi, I've received ITA on Jan 11th.

However, my question is in the Express Entry profile I've by mistakenly put my IELTS reading as 7.5 where it was supposed to be 7.0. (But I didn't get any advantage on the points system as it is the same for 7.0 or 7.5)

So, my question now is should I decline this ITA and wait for a new one or should I go ahead with this app and submit a letter of explanation explaining my mistake?

Update: [Urgent] HELP! Question Regarding Post ITA process regarding IELTS score

I have also received LMIA after the ITA, so my score was 465 and now it's 515 post ITA. Please someone help me regarding this, I'm so worried.

As from the standard/legal point of view i would say if there is no impact on the points, then it should not cause any problems.

Having said that - I would strongly recommend to wait for someone who have had through the same before and what happen after filing application.

Thank you so much Andy for the reply, I was thinking of the same as my score hasn't changed and that I could explain it in the letter of explanation.

Amend the scores in your application and write an LOE informing IRCC. No need to decline the ITA. Good luck!

Thank you PurpleTuzi that's what I was thinking if you rectify your own mistake provided the circumstance that it doesn't affect your profile negatively should be OK. But I'm also calling CIC call center to see what they'd say.

You're correct, the only issue you might have is if the change in scores causes you to fall below the cut off score.

My scores would remain the same even if I change the band which I've put wrong. But I rejected my ITA and made another profile and I included my LMIA this time and my score is 515 now.

I have another question. Since I'm not getting any points for my spouse's Canadian work I've decided to include it in the personal history rather than going through the hassle of collecting reference letters from all the 4 employers my spouse worked in Canada. Is that okay?

Hi there! I don't think you had to decline you application. I amended information in my application and wrote a LOE. Unfortunately I don't have any experience in applications with spouses I don't feel comfortable advising you on this matter. Maybe another member could assist. Best of luck.

No problem PurpleTuzi thanks for your help. I really appreciate it :)

Personal opinion : I would decline ITA and reapply in next draw... its only 3 days away... if your score is above cut off you will receive ITA once again.

small mistakes like typo or passport name (first name , last name etc) is kind of understandable, but IELTS score being incorrect could be thought as misinterpretation, even if it doesnt effect CRS score...

since next draw is only 3 days away (probably, no one knows for certain), i would decline ITA, why take a risk ? i mean im sure it will be fine in the end but those 6-8 months will be hellish thinking about it everyday :) know what i mean ??

You're absolutely right thestunner316, that's why I declined the ITA and now made another EE profile and included my LMIA too sitting at 515 CRS score. Hopefully next draw is day after and I get an ITA :)

cheers. good luck

LMIA is also a little complicated, i hope you have all the docs in order since they will check the validity of the LMIA thoroughly.
