Hello all,
I hope somebody can help me out.
I am applying through express entry.
I worked in Canada for 2 years under temporary work permit (W1). During that time, I obtained PR card and held it for 1 year and moved out of Canada. Since then I let my PR card expire and voluntarily revoked my PR card as I did not even stay (physical test) for 730 days (it was probably 400 something).

Now to calculate points for my work experience, I was told that I can count 1 year (of the 2 years that I worked in Canada) as foreign work experience under Canadian work experience and not the other 1 year since I had PR card.

Is it true? If that is, then I lose 1 year of work experience that amounts to lots of points.

Any help is much appreciated.

To my knowledge PR card expires after 5 years. I do not think you can count any of your Canadian work experience from the CEC.

According to:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

You must:
  • have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,

You may consider the FSW.

Please clarify.
If that 1 year of work experience in Canada isn't accounted as 'Canadian work experience" then can it be accounted as foreign work experience?
It looks like I lost 1 year of experience for nothing as I cannot that towards anything.

On top of this, since its been a while, there is a possibility that it is not even a complete 1 year, could be less. Will that make a difference?

So basically, how many points can I earn for that approximate 2 years in Canada?
(1 year with work permit and then another year after obtaining PR)

Secondly, is it a mistake that I renunciated my PR card after its expiry after 5 years?

So I shouldn't try express entry category but try FSW?

Thanks so much.
