I am filling personal history form in IMM5669 as requested by CIC and in my PR application I entered 3 months as unemployed whereas I was employed. I have no official employment record for this period but have an online income tax record for this. I did not claim points for this and have 7 days to upload document.

Should I fix it in IMM5669 and provide an LOE with a screenshot for the above? I can also provide official employment record with it missing.

You have to be genuine when filling up your details or you risk being rejected or worse getting banned. You dont need to provide any reference letters to any of the employment activities you list in your Schedule A. That only applies to the job you listed in your employment history which you are claiming points for.

Thanks for your reply.

Not a reference letter but an explanation why:

  • It was changed in IMM5669 after receiving AOR
  • It is not listed in Employment Record
  • Provide proof of work/taxation by providing income tax document and one month payment stub.
Do you think this is doable?

You could add a LOE to inform CIC that you have mistaknley missed to add this employment in your history. You dont need to add any employment prof since you're not claiming points for it.
Just make sure you leave no blank dates and fill in your details since the age of 18 if your older than 28, as many applicants who only filled the past ten years had to redo the form

I am younger than 28 but have added a little extra than 8 years just in case. Thanks for your help!

Hi!
are you sure we need to fulfill all information starting from 18??
I am 42 and was fulfilling starting from my 32 for paper based.

I am reapplying now through Express entry - so wondering should I add these years? ( I am reapplying because paper based is toooo long - I applied on August 2017 and still even no medical exam request received)

Hi Alnemeh!

I have similar question but a little bit different.
During applying for paper based PR application last year I literally forgot to mention 2 part time jobs - they were short just 1 month each.
There is no blanks or lie in my application - as these jobs were during my study and my permanent work.

Q1: should I stated these jobs if i will be required additional updated docs for my paper based application

Q2: should I mention these jobs in my Express Entry profile (I am afraid about the question why I didn't mention it in paper based - if somehow these two applications would be connected and checked out). I remember about these jobs now - by checking my CRA account and seeing tax return for them

thank you!

I`m not really in a place to give a definite answer on this. It is what I read on this forum, thats why I covered my history since I was 18 (Currently 35). However, I dont see how they expect a mid aged person to go back nearly 3 decades to remember his travels or addresses... For ease, you can fill 10 years back 'as per the instructions' and hope for the best. Worst thing that could happen is they ask you to re fill it again. Or avoid the risk of unnecessary delays and cover back to your 18th

Hi Alexandra,
I dont know much about paper based applications. For the EE system, you can raise a CSE to highlight / amend any fault information entered in your application and I assume you can do the same for paper based.
As for your questions, yes, always be truthful when filling your information. Update your information correctly in your new EE profile, and add a LOE to state that you genuinely forgot to mention these jobs and I dont think you'll have any issues

This is not correct. Only last 10 years are required.
