Hi , I am an international student and I am doing my graduation at Concordia University. I will graduate this week and then I have 3 years of work permit after that. My fiancée lives in India. She is going to visit me during this week and going to stay for the summer on her visitor visa. We would like marry here in Quebec this summer. I would like to know what will be the procedure and required documents to marry in Quebec, Canada.

Also, will she get an open work permit as well once we are married ? How much time does it take for the marriage process and to get her work permit?

You need to be a Permanent Resident to sponsor your spouse. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...l-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html

Thanks for the suggestion. I thought incase someone might’ve passed through the same situation they might be able to help. I’ll put my query there as well. Appreciate your guidance, thanks.

Many people have been in the same situation, in the International Student and/or Foreign Worker sections of the forums. The rules are completely different when a person marries a Canadian citizen/PR.

Your wife could get an owp if you have a job in not 0, A or B and need to include 3 pay stubs. Not sure you can apply to get married, get married, get marriage certificate and apply for owp in the summer it may take a bit longer.
