hi experts,

i need expert advice on the following.
one of my friend got pulled over last week and was arrested by cop at he had some marijuana in this car, but cop didn't charge him and left him free, so i just want know that how badly his can affect his application, he has Aor mid February , and is still waiting for PPR.

Did that happen in Canada or abroad?

I may be wrong, but as long as he wasn't charged with any crime, I don't think that would be a problem. I believe CIC look for more serious offenses.

that wouldn't be a problem if RCMP haven't charged or take a blood sample for impaired condition

Well if there is no impaired charge so nothing will found in BC..dnt worry i knw some one with same instance but he got ppr..

they never ask that had you been arrested ,it is that have you ever been convicted or had criminal history,but in this there is no such charge...so no problem....

you do have to declare that you have been arrested in schd a form but since he has already applied for pr he should be good. can be worse as marijuana possession is a crime here. if he was arrested and put at the back seat of the police car, then there might be a possibility that they had it on the system now about his crime. IRCC might ask for RCMP if they get suspicions . but how did your friend get away with such a crime ? no offence but Possession of marijuana is a criminal offense under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and once caught with the drug you have no option but to get a criminal record and probably face deportation
