Hi there

First of all you must learn to be patient here in this forum. Sometimes replies may take a few hours due to different time zones of the people here.
Having said that, I believe that before your passport expires in any country you may replaced prior to the expiry date. When you are requested by the VO to send in your passport include both, the one that expired and the new one!

Good luck with your apps

My PP is already with CIC for more then 8 months now .. It's expiring in another 3 days .i have mailed CIC regarding the same but no reply .

So my question is will they send my PP back without the visa to get it renewed , or they will issue the visa and ask me to renew before travelling .

13.15. Valid visas in expired passports
If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used since the expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid visa may continue to use their visa until the date it expires even if the visa is in an expired passport. Visitors can fulfil the visa and passport requirements by presenting both the renewed and expired passports containing the valid visa counterfoil to a BSO when seeking entry into Canada. The Regulations state that visas should not be issued longer than the validity of the passport. However, due to pre- IRPA cases, it is possible to encounter visas in expired passports.

It is not possible to "transfer" a valid visa into a new passport. If the holder of a valid visa wishes to have a visa placed in their new passport or if the passport is deemed ‘not valid' for political or security concerns, visitors must apply for a replacement visa by submitting a new application and paying the replacement document fee in accordance with R311(2).

If the applicant wishes to obtain a visa valid for a longer period in the new document, this will constitute a new temporary resident visa application and any applicable fees resulting from this new application will be collected. The previous visa will subsequently be cancelled.

Thanks , that means they will return me my PP back right ?

Thank you once again .

you will get your passport with the visa, you will have to apply for a new passport to travel with, and you will have to bring the old one too to show your visa stamped on it to show the immigration that you have the visa of entry.

I doubt that CIC will stamp a visa on an expired passport, i expect that they will return it back to you and inform you that your visa is ready to be stamped once you provide a new passport/or extend the validity of the existing one.

I had only 3 months validity on my passport at the time when i got PPR, and to avoid the hassle i cancelled the existing passport and it took me around 1 month to get a new one - once i got it i forwarded the new one to CIC.

if it was that case cic would have already asked for a new passport, and if so it will take more time, i do still trust quorax posting

CIC asked for my re medicals , but didn't mention anything about my PP . Though I had send them a mail informing about my medicals expiring and my PP .

thy wont give a visa with expired medical thats why they asked for new medical, i do hopw that your waitig time will end soon
