Hello

I have received my COPR and tomorrow is my landing(6th nov). Im leaving Canada in end of November and returning at Christmas time. I wont have my PR card with me. I was told my work permit will be cancelled at the time of landing. How can I re enter on Christmas time into Canada after my trip. COPR is not a valid document for travel. Please advise .

Wait until you return from your trip to 'land'?

There is no urgent processing available for new permanent residents.

Assuming you hold a non-visa exempt passport, you will have to apply for a Travel Document once you are outside of Canada. The Travel Document will allow you to re-enter Canada.

I'm kind of in the same situation.....

If you hold a visa-exempt passport and you leave without a PR card or a travel document, is it ok to come back in without these?

I spoke to a CIC agent about this yesterday - initially she said that I wouldn't be allowed back in by immigration. By the end of the call, she told me that I would have no problems with immigration (although they may ask me some extra questions) but that the airline might not allow me to board the plane in my country of departure.

She also told me that if I applied for a Travel Document, that they cannot guarantee that you will have this before you travel (she would not give me an estimated processing time).
